How It Works

See how our systems work.

No two fires are the same, they start for varying reasons and often create very challenging conditions to control and defeat them. However, Reacton have a suite of scalable, tested and certified fire suppression systems able to automatically detect then knock down a fire before it has an opportunity to take hold.

The Benefits of Automatic Fire Suppression

What is Automatic Fire Suppression?

An Automatic fire suppression system is a term used for a system that can suppress (control) or extinguish a fire scenario without having to rely on human intervention.

Fully automatic fire suppression systems remove the reliance of a person being involved in this critical process of fire protection. There are some basic risks when this responsibility is given solely to human interaction. Firstly you must have someone physically present to be able to intervene, many applications do not permit this due to location and/or environments not being suitable for humans, for example, wind turbines, remote power generation and most industrial applications where noise, heat and contaminants are excessive.

Next, we have the question of the competency of the person, are they trained enough to know the early stages of a fire and how to operate the fire extinguisher correctly. In many instances the fire will start very small, these can be in a confined area that may not be accessible let alone visible. Even if the fire is detected promptly the application of the correct fire protection device and choice of extinguishing medium is reliant on the person present at that time.

When a Reacton Automatic fire protection system is correctly installed, all of these issues are mitigated.  The fire suppression system is in charge of the detection which will be located where the risks are. It will offer repeatable detection in the hardest to reach areas without false alarms. The discharge of the extinguishing agent will be precise and controlled right where it is needed every time. Most importantly, this happens without any person having to be present or involved.

So, what does an automatic extinguishing system look like? These systems in their simplest form have a means of detection, actuation and delivery.

With the Reacton Fire Suppression system, we use a flexible pneumatic heat detection tube to detect and actuate the delivery system, the delivery systems are stored pressure containers filled with the appropriate fire extinguishing medium.

All of these components work in unison to provide a fully automatic fire suppression system that can be fitted to a wide range of applications. This versatile solution offers 24/7 protection in an easy to install pre-engineered package.

Automatic Fire suppression from Reacton is split into two separate technologies, these are Direct fire suppression systems (DLP) or Indirect fire suppression systems (ILP). Each has its own benefits and suitable applications. More information on how the Direct & Indirect technologies work can be found Here.

What makes the Reacton automatic fire suppression system different?

The Reacton automatic fire extinguishing systems utilise our unique detection method made of our proprietary polymer detection tube. This is flexible and durable but remains accurate and versatile meaning that the applications are almost endless.

The fire detection tube can be routed quickly and easily but most importantly right next to the fire risk so rapid detection can take place without the worry of false alarms.

The entire fire protection range from Reacton are pre-engineered, this means you do not have to worry about performing any complex hydraulic calculations or time consuming and extensive design work. Solutions are sold with all the required items to allow a complete and successful installation.

The Reacton automatic suppression system is suitable for many applications including server rack fire protection, cnc fires, fire suppression for electrical panels, heavy equipment, vehicle fire suppression and agricultural fire protection to name but a few using suppressants and extinguishant such as wet chemical and dry powder.
